My Novel

An aspiring author, I am self taught, and still learning. I now have two fantasy novels self-published and will soon be publishing Maroz as an ebook.

If you read any of my books and enjoy them, please return to the place in which you got the book and leave a review. Every bit helps.

If You Plan on Reading One of my Books....
Please go to my Author's page Kenneth J. Ester and read "Hell in a Storm" first. I personally feel it is a better written novel than Maroz, and more likely to be enjoyed. Hell in a Storm is the first book in the Demon Siege Trilogy. Book two, "The Descent of Darkness" is now also available.

Maroz - The Novel
I appologize for any inconvenience. As a now self published author, I have decided to add Maroz to my published books list. I am presently going through the book and re-editing it, and boy did it need it. I cannot believe how far I have come since writing Maroz. However, I am confident that this will make Maroz for a much more enjoyable read and as soon as it is available for purchase, I will post it. As well as editing the story, I am also changing the names of many characters, as I did not feel the names we passable once I started reading it again.

Hell in a Storm - Now Available

Hell in a Storm, my latest novel, and book-1 of the 'Demon Siege Trilogy' is now available as an E-Book at the price of $2.99. If you do not have a Kindle or other E-book reader, do not be discouraged. Hell in a Storm is also available in a downloadable format for reading on your computers.

The first 25% of the book is also available as a free preview so you can give it a try before deciding if you want to spend the money to finish it.

If you should purchase my book by June 10th, 2012, please enter the coupon code FN47Y to get a 30% discount.

Hell in a Storm is now available at Smashwords and should be available in most E-Book stores in a couple of weeks. However, it will not be available at Amazon just yet. I will be working on that one.

  1. Hi! I found your site searching for "Fantasy Blog Novels" so it looks like all the work you're doing is paying off. Have you had any luck getting the novel itself to sell?

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 100K word first novel and I'm torn if I should post the full work online. Something about giving up your rights to "first publication" is what scares me.

So I am taking it easy and posting only a few at Chapters at a time.

    Good luck!

  2. What you should do is depending on what you are looking for. If your goal is to get your novel printed and on shelves, you should study up a lot on how to write a good query letter and submitting to agents. Personally I found this a very tedious job while hoping you just happen to catch the right agent in the right mood at the right time to get a first novel going. Then you have to hope it is a good agent and not one of the many scam artists out there.

After numerous rejections, I started looking into Ebooks and liked what I found. The more I thought on it, the more I began to believe that the future of reading is more in the kindles and nooks. Old timers like myself still love to sit back with a real book, but as the younger crowd starts reading more, they will want to do it with technology. At least that is my opinion. So I decided to get into that while its still up and coming.

As of yet, I have not sold any books, but that just might have to do with the fact I decided to make it a free ebook. Being a free download, it gets downloaded about once or twice a day. Not a lot, but that is fine. I know I am a nobody and so people are not as quick to spend time reading my book when they can get books from more established authors.

My plan is not to expect to get rich right away. It is to get as many people to read my book as possible. When the second book of the trilogy is released, I am hoping some of those who liked the first book will then be willing to buy the second book. I believe the second book, "Descent of Darkness", is better than the first, and has an ending that will intrigue the reader a little more.

I am hoping that as more people read the first two books, there will be more who will look forward to the third. With luck, I will start a small following that will grow as I continue to write. If I hit the lottery and got rich from writing, it would be great, but I am not going into it expecting this. I am expecting it to be a project that hopefully will continue to grow. With a lot of luck, maybe someday I can turn writing into my full time job.

I would not keep adding new chapters on line unless you add the entire book as an ebook. Put enough out there for readers to get interested and willing to check the entire book out. I have heard some say to go right to Amazon and put your book there. That may be the right way to go. Myself, I decided to go with Smashwords because I did not know enough on how to turn it into an ebook and Smashwords offers a very good guide on doing just that.
